In the last 20 years, I sat on various boards of directors such as Desjardins local Bank, Canada-China Business Council in Beijing, TC Mining in Northern Québec, Institut Innovation Gatineau, Mingzhu Logistics Holding (Nasdaq:YGMZ), Haoxin Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: HXHX). In December 2015, I founded Wellfunded Enterprise, an investment funds for real estate, e-learning, greentech and fintech initiatives.
Since July 2005, via Legal2Fly and Well Asia Group, we provide various education and investment-immigration program to obtain residency and citizenship worldwide, the firms promote the global citizenship philosophy.
We provide a wide range of services from real estate foreign investments to dedicated services for HNWI wiling to invest in Canada, USA, Europe and Asia markets. We also collaborate with major law firms on cross-border transactions including financing and acquisitions of overseas assets and Angel financing.
My Story
Born and raised in Quebec, Canada, Mikael Charette is a lawyer whose career has spanned continents, industries, and cultures. With more than two decades of international experience, Mikael has become a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, investors, and entrepreneurs seeking to build lives beyond borders.
Mikael is a graduate of both the University of Ottawa and Victoria University, where he laid the foundation for a career rooted in legal excellence and global perspective. His professional journey has taken him from Canada to Asia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean, working in fields including immigration law, government relations, economic development, and residency-by-investment programs.
But his story isn’t just about law — it’s about motion. Whether guiding a client through complex global immigration strategies or designing solutions for international investors, Mikael believes in mobility as a form of freedom and citizenship as a strategic asset.
In 2015, while working in Beijing, Mikael co-founded Legal 2 Fly, a boutique immigration firm dedicated to helping individuals and families travel freely, invest wisely, and live globally. The name reflects his belief that the world is not only open to those with means — but to those with vision.
Today, Mikael continues to lead Legal 2 Fly with integrity, strategic insight, and a passion for connecting people to opportunity. He is also a proud father, dedicated runner, and frequent contributor to global conversations on immigration and cross-border mobility.
And when he’s not advising clients or speaking at conferences, Mikael is most at peace discovering the world by bike — from the breathtaking climbs of Everest Base Camp, to the azure waters of the French Riviera, and the quiet beauty of the Québécois countryside.
